ACL INJURY PREVENTION
ACL INJURY PREVENTION CLASS
Athletes who play sports that put them at a higher risk of suffering an ACL injury, including soccer, basketball, field hockey, lacrosse and football as well as all female athletes, who are 4 to 8 times more likely to tear their ACLs than males.
Minimize your risk of suffering a devastating ACL injury with this small-group class, which focuses on strengthening your knees, hips, and the surrounding muscles. Our trainers will also teach you proper landing and squatting techniques – two motions that frequently cause ACL tears when performed incorrectly. Each session is a 1 hour group class and is offered throughout the week. Trainees receive the most benefit by attending for 8 weeks.
Anyone who has undergone an ACL surgery and has been cleared to return to physical activity.
After an ACL surgery and 6 to 12 months of physical therapy, athletes are often told they can return to sports, but are given little guidance or instructions on how to do so. With The Micheli Center you can return to your sport safely and confidently by building up the strength, flexibility, and agility needed to get back on the field. These 1 hour, private sessions provide the attention needed to quickly get you back on track. It is recommended that you come for a minimum of 4 weeks.
