SARA CARPENITO, MS, LAT, ATC
INJURY PREVENTION SPECIALIST
Sara is a 2012 graduate of Kean University with a bachelor’s degree in athletic training. She continued her education and professional experience as a graduate assistant athletic trainer at Elmira College with field hockey, ice hockey, and softball as her primary responsibilities. During that time, she worked as the Head Athletic Trainer for the Elmira Pioneers collegiate baseball team (a PGCBL team). There she earned her Master of Science degree in education and health services management in 2014. In fall of 2014, she continued her professional career at Wentworth Institute of Technology athletic training staff working mainly with volleyball, basketball, and softball.
In 2015, Sara transitioned to the clinical setting at Boston Children’s Hospital working as a triage coordinator and clinical athletic trainer in the Division of Sports Medicine. During that time Sara was also the Head Athletic Trainer for the Boston Pride (a National Women’s Hockey League team). Soon after, Sara joined The Micheli Center for Sports Injury Prevention. Having grown up as a softball pitcher, here she could carry out her ambition to work with baseball and softball athletes, analyze throwing mechanics, and teach how to prevent injuries for all types of athletes.
