MIKE TAKSIR, MS, CSCS
STRENGTH & CONDITIONING SPECIALIST
Mike has been working on and off at The Micheli Center since 2013 and returns in a per-diem capacity after 2 years of supporting Air Force Special Forces Pararescuemen and other military personnel with Human Performance Training. Mike has worked at bases in New York and Arizona, assisting with not only Performance Training but helping with the creation of a career-specific PT Test for AFSOC working with the Air Force Research Lab and the Air Force’s Human Performance Wing.
He completed his master’s degree at the University of Miami in 2016, majoring in kinesiology with concentrations in strength and conditioning as and sports nutrition. During his time at UMiami, he was a student strength and conditioning coach for the football program, working with multiple NFL Draft Picks as well as assisting with Men’s Tennis, Women’s Volleyball and Rowing. A 2012 graduate of Hofstra University, Mike obtained his bachelor’s degree in exercise physiology and minored in health psychology. While at Hofstra, he worked with multiple MLB and NHL athletes as an intern for Professional Athletic Performance Center. A member of the NSCA since 2015 and USA Weightlifting since 2016, he is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and a Level 1 Sports Performance Coach (USAW-Lvl 1). Mike grew up in Ashland, MA where he played soccer, basketball and lacrosse. He speaks fluent Russian and stays active by still competing in soccer leagues, lifting, golf, and snowboarding.
