Michelina Cassella Kulak, PT (Mickey) is a 1964 graduate of the University of Connecticut, School of Physical Therapy. She is formerly the director of the Department of Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy Services, Boston Children’s Hospital (2002-2010). She has a Harvard University appointment, Lecturer in Orthopaedic Surgery, which she has held since 1990. Additionally, she has held academic appointments at Boston Conservatory Dance Division, Simmons College Program in Physical Therapy, Boston University, Northeastern University, Massachusetts General Hospital School of Allied Health Professionals.

Ms. Cassella Kulak is formerly the director of Physical Therapy Services at Boston Ballet Co. and Boston Ballet, Center for Dance Education. She held that position from 1991 to 2011. Ms. Cassella has written several articles for professional journals, most recent ones are dance medicine related. She has lectured extensively both nationally and internationally on the topics of dance medicine and the physical therapy management of adolescent idiopathic scoliosis. In 2002, Ms. Cassella Kulak established the Adaptive Dance Program for children with Down syndrome at Boston Ballet. The program is now in its 11th year and has an enrollment of 75 students. In 2009, Ms. Cassella Kulak began and Adaptive Dance Program for children with autism, this class is now in its 4th year.
