The Micheli Center for Sports Injury Prevention recognizes that runners are at risk for a unique set of injuries, and that there are many steps that can be taken to reduce the risk of these injuries. To help runners of all ages and abilities stay healthy and running at their best, we offer the following:
RUNNING INJURY PREVENTION
Identify inefficiencies in your running gait and learn how to reduce your risk for injury. Our staff will evaluate your posture, cadence, foot strike, stride, flexibility, strength, and movement patterns. Instruction will then be provided on how to improve your running gait along with exercises to stretch and strengthen specific muscles.
After the initial analysis, our staff will encourage entering into our gait retraining program to focus on your flexibility, strength, and technique needs. Once you have completed 8 hour sessions, an hour long re-test will identify improvements made and provide guidance for continued training.
